Prioritisation and Acceleration of an Additional Category of Applicants
With effect from the 29th July 2024, the IPO will accelerate the processing of applications for international protection from Jordan
Accelerated applications undergo the same decision making process as all other international protection applications, but have their cases dealt with in a more timely manner.
With effect from the 23rd April 2024, the IPO will prioritise and accelerate the processing of an additional category of applicants under Sections 73 (1) (a), 73A, and 73 (2) (l) of the International Protection Act.
These provisions allow the IPO to accelerate applications from the country of origin with the highest number of applications in a given period.
In accordance with these provisions, applications from Nigeria will now be subject to an accelerated decision making process for at least the next 3 months.
The country which fits these legislative criteria will be reviewed in July 2024, and, if necessary, processes updated accordingly.
